A FOOD FESTIVAL RIPE WITH CULTURE & SOUL

In some places, the sight of falling leaves is synonymous with fall. In Pueblo, the savory aroma of roasting chilies signals summer’s end.

The annual Chile & Frijoles Festival, held each year the third weekend after Labor Day, is Pueblo’s harvest celebration. The festival is hosted by the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce.

Every year, thousands pay homage to Pueblo’s best-loved crop: green chilies, particularly Pueblo Chile.

The event features live entertainment, street vendors, cooking competitions, and chilies, chilies, chilies! Held downtown along Union Avenue, the festival draws Pueblo residents as well as people from across the state and around the nation.

As City Church we want to be the church in the city for the city and to obey Jesus’ call to be a mission of spirit led disciples for the Kingdom of God to be proclaimed and advanced. We desire to join God in what He is doing in our world and the city of Pueblo, CO. Our purpose and heart is to reach our city with the gospel for the glory of God. We do this by intentionally being a part of community events in our city, such as our city wide Chile Frijole Festival, our annual Riverwalk trick-or- treat costume contest, we also create space to engage our city with community outreach which we call City Collective. It’s where we interact with the community through music, arts, and hospitality.
